Adjusting the 7th gear ratio sets the carÆs maximum speed: a long ratio will mean a faster straight line speed, but will also take longer to reach it. A short ratio gives significantly sharper acceleration, but a weaker top speed. After setting the 7th gear ratio, adjust first gear for the slowest band.
Only then start spacing the other ratios between 7th and 1st.
For an optimal gearbox set-up you have to consider the engine RPM at which the engine has the maximum power. Considering that this value is reached between 16500 RPM and 18000 RPM, an optimal set-up means a 17000 RPM gear-up value.
You can also adjust the Auto Shift Down RPM that will provide an optimal power gain in bends.
